foxx Oct. 13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Jamie Foxx said in an interview that if it had been his daughter Polanski had allegedly molested, the director would have had to face Foxx himself. “The Soloist” star promises that it would never get to court.

On the other hand, he feels that his perspective might have been different had he known the director personally, like many of his famous peers in tinsel town. However, according to Foxx, it’s not just an issue concerning Polanski, it is something ailing the world. He gets a “knee-jerk” when he thinks of the atrocities committed to women. The star with a fifteen year old daughter finds it hard to be reasonable when it comes to one’s own family. He says that if someone is causing harm to your family, “it’s hard to think about turning the other cheek.”

Foxx blames his outspoken attitude on his Texan upbringing. There have been numerous instances, he stresses, when his publicist had reprimanded him for saying things publicly when he should have kept silent. Foxx admits to not being able to take up the cue. He resolutely refuses to stay shut when the water goes over the head.

Despite his zeal for upholding and executing justice, Foxx stresses that it is necessary to let the judicial system do it’s job. He may have given strikingly graphic accounts of the punishments he would like to mete out to sexual perpetrators, but he would not want anyone to take up the law in his own hands. “Revenge is a tough thing’” he says, but the law is there for everyone.
