James McAvoy to play Professor X in latest X-Men movie
May 29th, 2010 - 2:52 pm ICT by ANINew York, May 29 (ANI): Last King of Scotland star James McAvoy will play the younger version of X-Men’s Professor X in the forthcoming ‘X-Men: First Class’.
The movie will trace the early years of Profesor X a.l.a Charles Xavier and the origin of his rivalry with former best friend Magneto.
Patrick Stewart had previously played the abstruse Professor X, who unifies a group of mutants and motivates them to use their powers to fight evil.
British director Matthew Vaughn of ‘Snatch’ fame, will be directing the movie which is the fifth instalment in the X-Men series, ew.com reports.
It is due to be released on June 3rd 2011. (ANI)
