James McAvoy slams fame-seeking thespiansJanuary 20th, 2009 - 2:28 pm ICT by ANI
London, Jan 20 (ANI): Scottish actor James McAvoy has slammed fellow fame-seeking thespians, insisting that stars who court fame are “not actors to me”.
The 29-year-old actor says that hes disgusted when he sees fellow thespians spread over the pages of glossy magazines.
The Atonement star refuses to become a regular fixture on the Hollywood party circuit because he fears the public will become more interested his personal life than his acting ability.
“There comes a point where, you just cant watch an actor without I just know so much about them. So how can I accept them in a role? the Daily Express quoted McAvoy as saying.
There are just some people, theyre not actors to me. Theyre chip paper. Just glossy paper.
If Im in a film, or a telly, or a play, then why should people come and see it? Because you know, they can just pick up some f***ing rubbish magazine, and see me in that, he added. (ANI)
