Dec.20, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The expectation of the viewers of SNL rose high ever since it was announced that James Franco, the youthful and cute Pineapple Express star will act as the host. He was the musical guest on the SNL hosted on December 19, 2009. The versatile actor has also donned the hats of screen writer, film producer and artist, all in the span of his young career. His portrayal of Spider Man’s best buddy Harry Osborn in the three Spider Man movies made him a household name. Before starring in Spider Man, he had also acted in a number of small teen flicks. In 2001 he came into the spotlight after acting in James Dean, the TV biographical film by Mark Rydell. It fetched him the Best Actor award for Golden Globe.

Recently he earned rave reviews for his performance in the academy award winning Sean Penn starer Milk. A few days back James Franco came out clear on his decision to join GENERAL HOSPITAL, a U.S. daytime soap. Many of his fans were taken aback by his decision to get involved with the drama that has been running for quite some time. Nevertheless, it cannot be denied that they were all happy to be able to see the talented actor be a part of the popular series.

However, now he thinks that acting in the series will not form a vital part of his career.James Franco said in a recent interview that his obsession with the genre of performance art prompted him to act in the series. The actor believes in re-inventing himself by acting in roles that are diverse.
