Dec.11, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Whenever maverick director James Cameron starts working on a new movie the fans and critics start expecting something extraordinary. After all the ace director has given Hollywood some of its most memorable and critically acclaimed films. The same was the case with his recently released big screen extravaganza ‘Avatar’.

Yesterday ‘Avatar’’s world premiere was held at London and the critics got to view the much awaited movie. If the early reviews and response to the movie are to be believed, with this film Cameron has added another feather to his cap. The site of the various movie review sites including Rotten tomatoes, Variety and others witnessed heavy traffic as the fans logged in to check the early reviews of ‘Avatar’. As a result some of the sites became excessively slow.

This movie has the potential to become an worthy successor to Titanic that created new box office records 10 years back. James Cameron promised the fans to deliver something people never got to see with this movie and the director has succeeded. Avatar blends Sci-fi with fantasy beautifully and yet the plot never seems over the top or absurd to the viewers. His depiction of the fantasy world named Pandora looks stunning and captivating. The detail used in the Pandora and its creatures is superb.

The movie is long but does not give the viewers a dragging impression. James Cameron also proves that he has the capability to bring out the best from any actor. Sam Worthington delivers a riveting performance after the rather mechanical ‘Terminator Salvation’ in ‘Avatar’.
