Jake Gyllenhaal donates used eyewear
April 6th, 2011 - 3:03 am ICT by IANSLondon, April 6 (IANS) Actor Jake Gyllenhaal donates his used glasses for those who cannot afford prescription eyewear.
The “Brokeback Mountain” star backs New Eyes For The Needy, an organisation which provides glasses for the needy, reports dailystar.co.uk.
“It’s a small charity that provides prescription glasses for people who can’t afford them in the US, and then in countries around the world. I have really bad eyesight, and always have had, since I was a little kid. And I’ve always donated my used glasses to them. It’s important to do what you can to raise awareness for things that you care about, and the things you believe in,” he said.
