Jagdeep Turns Churma Bhopali For Sholay Baney Oley

August 24, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): The legendary cult movie of Bollywood, Sholay, has inspired many filmmakers in India and one such is a producer based in Hyderabad. The producer is planning to make a spoof on the iconic Ramesh Sippy movie Sholay.
Veteran comedian Jagdeep has been finalized to revive the famous character of ‘Soorma Bhopali’ from the 1975 movie Sholay. However, there will be a little change as his character will be named “Churma Bhopali’ instead of ‘Soorma Bhopali’ and the title of the film will be changed to Sholay Baney Oley. Other characters will also be given some funny names.
Confirming the news, Jagdeep said that a producer from Hyderabad has shown interest in making a spoof on Sholay. The actor has also admitted taking up the offer to enact the role of Churma Bhopali. The success of Sholay inspired Jagdeep to produce and act in many other films. In fact, in one of his films titled Purana Mandir, the name of Jagdeep’s character was Gabbar, which is again inspired from one popular villain role of Sholay.
Later, Jagdeep directed a movie titled Soorma Bhopali with big stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra and Rekha. Hope the producer is really serious about the project and comes out with a really interesting movie!
