David and Victoria Beckham have sent a letter of support and sympathy to cancer-stricken TV star Jade Goody.

The letter, that Victoria Beckham had written by hand, was delivered to Goody on a satin pillow by a footman and read, “Both David and I are genuinely moved by your fight against this cruel illness. We are both thinking of you at what must be a terrible time. We wanted to offer your two lovely children a gift we hope they will both like. We know they are mad keen football fans so we have sent two AC Milan kits.”

The kit contained two AC Milan replica shirts from David Beckham’s current club for Jade’s sons Bobby, five and Freddie, four. Sources revealed that Jade was touched by the Beckhams’ message and the gifts for her sons, who nearly worship David Beckham. She was reported to have been “touched that David and Victoria said such kind words to her. She was very happy that they had taken the time to write and think of her boys. It genuinely gave her a boost.”

Jade Goody, who suffers from terminal cervical cancer, gained sympathy worldwide and media attention for her fight against the illness. She was the controversial star of the reality TV show Big Brother and faced immense public flak for racially abusing her co-contestant Shilpa Shetty on camera. However she seems to have been forgiven by everyone after her illness became public with the Beckhams’ letter being the latest among a number of condolence offerings.
