London, June 1 (ANI): Thrashing hopes of millions of Michael Jackson’s fans, Akon has said that the King of Pop will not be singing live during his comeback concerts, and will instead be lip syncing his famous tracks.
The news might disappoint scores of fans, who have splashed out on tickets for Jacko’s upcoming seven-month London residency-’This Is It’.
The R ‘n’ B star, who has previously collaborated with the ‘Thriller’ hitmaker, has confessed that the 50-year-old legend won’t be showing off his vocals during the tour, but will rely on a pre-recorded track.
“Michael singing I’m not so sure about. He will perform but not sing,” the Daily Express quoted him as saying.
However, Akon maintains that audiences at the British capital’s O2 Arena will still be thrilled by the spectacular shows that Jackson is putting up for them.
“It’s going to be amazing, I can definitely tell you that. I’m going to have front row tickets. I will have the best tickets in the house and will be so close to the stage you will think that I am on it,” said Akon.
Jackson is scheduled to kick off ‘This Is It’ in July. (ANI)
