Jack Black And Rock Director Reteam

August 7, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Jack Black would be reteaming with director Richard Linklater. The two had earlier worked together for the mega popular School of Rock. This time they collaborate for the dark comedy called Bernie.
Shirley MacLaine would be seen starring opposite to Jack. The film is being finished by Mandalay Vision and Castle Rock Entertainment.
Set in a small town of Carthage, Texas the film Bernie follows the accounts of a Renaissance man-community head/mortician Bernie played by Black, who becomes friends with a rich but very meticulous widow played by MacLaine. After Bernie slays her, he goes to great heights in the illusion that she is still alive.
Celine Rattray from Mandalay Vision will be producing with Martin Shafer and Liz Glotzer from Castle Rock. Ginger Sledge will also be one of the producers.
Black would be seen in Gulliver’s Travels while Linklater is in the initial stages of directing a 12-year film production that stars Ethan Hawke. The primary photography for Bernie is programmed to begin in the month of October.
