Melbourne, April 01 (ANI): Pop singers Delta Goodrem and Brian McFadden have split up, ending their seven-year relationship.

The pair has issued a statement revealing that they have called off their three-year engagement, reports the Herald Sun.

“Delta Goodrem and Brian McFadden regretfully announce that they are no longer engaged, and after much consideration, have mutually decided to end their relationship,” read their joint statement read.

“This decision has been made with a lot of soul searching from both parties with the realisation that they have grown apart. They leave the partnership with respect for one and other, wishing each other success and happiness for the future,” it said.

“Delta and Brian appreciate there will be interest regarding this announcement but request that their time together is respected and they are given privacy during this time of transition,” it concluded.

“I love Delta and always will. She is one of God’s living angels. I thank her for giving me the best years of my life. Please give us time,” he tweeted.

The pair met in 2004 when McFadden recruited Goodrem as a duet partner for his song ‘Almost Here’, written about the demise of his marriage to British C-grade celebrity Kerry Katona, the mother of his two children.

The couple wrote several hits together - ‘Goodrem’s In This Life’, ‘Together We Are One’ and ‘Believe Again’ among them.

His solo hit, ‘Like Only a Woman Can’, was written about Goodrem changing his life. (ANI)
