It’s A Rumour: Harrison Ford Is Not Dead

Though web rumors are not a new thing, but it seems this time, it went too far. On Thursday, rumors spread across the net that renowned American actor Harrison Ford is dead. The source of the rumors were mainly blogs and unauthentic websites.

The rumor started circulating after the news of legendary pop star Michael Jackson’s death spread across the internet which virtually caused search engines like Google to face huge web traffic as well as Wikipedia that came to a halt for half an hour. Such fake stories about celebrity death across the web can create confusion for news sites. Another attachment to this fake news stuff today is the news of the death of Jeff Glodblum. Both the actors are presently busy in New york city filming for their movie, “Morning Glory”. Similar rumors also came up in 2006 regarding the death of Tom Hanks.
Fake news of celebrity deaths also got boosted as the present year, up till now has seen the demise of quite a number of celebrities. These include James Whitmore, Bea Arthur, Jack Kemp, Natasha Richardson, Davis Carradine, Ron Silver, Pat Hingle, Richardo Montalban, Dom DeLuise, Patrick Macgoohan, Paul Harvey and John Updike besides the very recent Farrahh Fawcett who died yesterday. All such news of death are indeed heart breaking for the fans.

It is unfortunate that such kinds of rumors are beyond check and thus readers who scan the web for the latest news have to be conscious about it and should judge on their own regarding the authenticity of the news.
