Novara, Jan 27 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The body of Italian TV host Mike Bongiorno, who died in 2009 has been stolen. When he died then he was 85 years old. Apparently his grave was broken into and his body was stolen.

The robbery came to light when a person, who was visiting the graveyard noticed that Mike’s grave was open. He called the police, who are investigating the matter. The police officials refused to comment on the ongoing investigations.

Prominent Italian TV host Pippo Baudo said that, “Words cannot describe such a vile act, which has offended and dismayed me. It is sacrilegious, disgusting and dirty. I can’t imagine what the intention of these desecrators could be.”

In his hey days, Mike was one of the most popular TV hosts for more than half a century and he also used to be a close buddy of Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.

This is not the first time that the body of a well-known personality has been stolen in Italy. Almost a decade earlier, the body of Italian businessman Enrico Cuccia was stolen and then the robbers also wanted ransom in return for the body. However later, the robber’s plans were foiled when the police officials arrested them.
