This March release horror movie has been the surprise hit of the season. It is said to be based on the true story of the Snedeker family’s experiences of the supernatural. The family is said to be residing in Southington in Connecticut. The promotional stages of the film had claimed that it was based on a true story, almost highlighting the fact.
The film kicks off with the Campbell (in the film) family moving in to their new house in uptown Connecticut and end up discovering that there is some disturbing history related to the house. Strange and unheard of things begin to happen and the family is brought under a reign of terror. They are even ignorant of all the supernatural developments in their house. The family soon learns that the house’s previous owner’s young son Jonah had been involved in dealings with the dark forces, bringing shadow of the spirit’s on the house. Now, the same terrifying boy Jonah has returned to weave a tale of horror and misery on the Campbell, who are quite unaware of what is taking place in their house.
A book was written on the topic by author Ray Garton, named In A Dark Place. He had said however, that while investigating for the book, several loopholes were detected between the versions told by the various house members. Even the local police had stated that people were going to be disappointed as there was no ghost in the house.
The latest development on the film’s front is that, after its success, a sequel is being planned “The Haunting in Georgia”.

Jonah is supposed to be actually the teenager who was protecting the family from the evil spirits and he was the one who freed the poor spirits who were trapped in the house by the avaricious Dr. Ramsey Aikman (Dr. Aikman) who mercilessly and forcefully made Jonah perform seances and produce ectoplasm, which was extremely painful…….
Jonah wasn’t there to “weave a tale of hororr and misery” or whatsoever.

The only character in the story who played the harmful part was Dr. Ramsay Aikman. He practised necromancy to bind the spirits to their bodies. It was because of him that Jonah, who had no fault of his, was killed by the angered spirits in the furnace. And even after they burnt him unjustly in the furnace like that, he was righteous enough to free them.
