New York, Nov 12 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The speculation over Steven Tyler quitting Aerosmith continues. He had cleared the air on Tuesday with his statement that, “I just want New York to know, I am not leaving Aerosmith,” when he joined guitarist Joe Perry on stage in New York’s Irving Plaza. Perry also seemed to welcome him, but now Perry has given a statement that turns the tables back at Tyler.

“As it stands, Steven wants to take a couple years off and do some of whatever he wants to do and the rest of the band wants to keep working. The band is a really well-oiled machine and we’re going to work one way or another and I don’t know what form that’s going to take,” Perry said in a telephone interview.

Tyler has yet not commented on this, and instead his publicist, Kim Estlund, said that Steven Tyler was not going to issue a statement on Perry’s recent comments.

Perry maintained that he was very surprised to see Tyler in the New York concert. He said that he wasn’t at all expecting it and Tyler as usual surprised them all. He revealed that he still hasn’t been able to totally figure out Tyler, as when he thinks he knows him well, Tyler springs another surprise on him.
