Is Rolling Stones planning a farewell tour?

Rolling Stones Los Angeles, July 27 (THAINDIAN NEWS) There is a strong buzz in the air, which is suggestive of some sad news. Speculations are rife that the Rolling Stones are planning a farewell tour.

There are rumors that the legendary band is planning to have a 50th anniversary tour, which will also suffice as their farewell tour. Apart from this they would also celebrate the 70th birthday of drummer Charlie Watts on the tour.

Apparently the band members such as the 63-year-old Ronnie Wood, 66-year-old Keith Richards and even the 66-year-old Mick Jagger feel that this is the apt time to hang up their socks.

According to The Sun, the band members feel that the 50th anniversary is the correct milestone in which they ought to call it a day.

It ought to be mentioned that the band was formed in 1962, so the 50th anniversary would be held in 2012, so there is still some ample time before the band disbands for good.

According to a source, “They’re likely to perform in stadiums. It’s almost certainly the last full-scale world tour. The band realizes that age is creeping up on them. They want to bow out on top of their game, and not short-change their fans.”
