Is Lindsay Lohan considering a plea deal?
March 21st, 2011 - 9:29 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLos Angeles, Mar 21 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Several reports on the Internet suggests that ‘Mean Girls’ star Lindsay Lohan is considering whether to accept a proposed plea bargain that could reduce the time that she will spend in jail for the felony grand theft charge.
The 24-year-old troubled actress has been offered a deal that could see her spend three months in jail. Lohan’s lawyer has reportedly asked her to accept the bargain. If she does not accept the deal the actress could be jailed for more than a year for the offense.
Lohan is accused of stealing a $2,000 necklace from a boutique in Venice. She has maintained innocence though a surveillance video footage obtained from the shop revealed she actually picked the necklace. A rep of Lohan later returned the jewel to the police after the police obtained a search warrant to search the house of the actress.
She has pleaded not guilty to the charge with her lawyer insisting that the charge of grand theft is inappropriate even if she picked the jewel as is being claimed. She insists that the jewel’s value is far less than the $2,000 tag that has been placed on it saying the fact that it had a tag does not mean that is the right value.
