Los Angeles, July 27 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The musical reality show American Idol has already lost one of the most prominent figures on the show - Simon Cowell. Even though that has been a known fact for months, his possible replacement has not been that clear.

Simon Cowell who has been a judge on the show for a decade is likely to be replaced by Justin Timberlake, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The possible replacement has been a source of debate among the fans of the show, who are under no illusion that the highly critical judge will be easily replaced.

Other names that were been bundled around as possible replacements include the British star Elton John. But according to the Hollywood Reporter, Seniorita star might have just edged Elton John to the position.

It is also speculated that FOX is trying very hard to get former producer, Nasty Nigel Lythgoe back on the show. In a separate interview, Nigel is reported to have said if it were up to him, he will do a lot of house cleaning on the show.

It is believed that Randy Jackson might be the only judge to still stay on the show since it began in 2000 when the show starts this season. FOX is yet to renew the contract with Kara DioGuardi for the upcoming season.
