Is Harvey Keitel going to replace Steve Carrel in ‘The Office’ ?

Los Angeles, Sep 3 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The list of possible replacements for Steve Carrel on the TV show, “The Office” has increased yet again. The current name added to the list is Harvey Keitel.
Keitel is rumored to replace Carrel after the upcoming seventh season of the show. It ought to be mentioned that Carrel will be taken a break from his role as Michael Scott, the branch manager after the seventh season of the show.
One of the executive producers of the show, Paul Lieberstein who also plays Toby on the show fueled the rumors with his recent comments in an interview. He described Keitel in a recent interview as the only guy who can replace Carrel on the show.
“I haven’t started any talks with his people, but Harvey would do a great job — a very different energy. And we don’t want to bring in another Michael, having someone play a very similar character because we have such a high regard for Steve,” according to Paul.
Keitel recently played a role in ABC’s “Life on Mars” show. But the producers of “The Office” are yet to make a contact with the 71-year-old veteran actor who is famous for his roles in such hit movies like “Taxi Driver” and “Reservoir Dogs”.
But Paul insists that there would be a formal contact anytime soon and he also added that Keitel will definitely play the vacant role of Carrel.
