Is Bobby Brown going to attend Whitney Houston funeral?
February 15th, 2012 - 11:57 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLos Angeles, Feb 15 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Bobby Brown has denied that he has been barred from attending the funeral of ex wife Whitney Houston. Brown is currently in California where he is taking care of daughter Bobbi Kristina who has been hospitalized twice since the death of Houston on Saturday.
Earlier reports suggested that Brown will not be welcomed at the funeral. Attendance to the event, which will take place in Houston’s hometown of Newark, will be by invitation. Some reports have blamed Brown for the death of Houston.
Brown issued a statement on the health status of his daughter. The statement revealed that Bobbi “is dealing with the tragedy of her mother’s death and would prefer to do it outside of the public eye. I ask again that our privacy be respected.”
Brown’s reps issued a statement to ABC regarding his invitation to the funeral. The statement said that, “We are not focused on reports, stories or false reports for that matter.”
Houston and Brown married in 1992. The respective public images of the pair made the relationship highly unlikely but Houston always defended Brown. When she admitted to using drugs in the latter part of the 1990s, fingers were pointed at Brown as introducing her to it.
The pair eventually divorced in 2007.
