Institute For Human Continuity (IHC): Doomsday Predictions And Viral Marketing

The movie 2012 is an apocalyptic one that relates to events of the world coming to an end. For its publicity Sony pictures has come up with this site on the IHC (Institute for Human Continuity) which is being used as a viral marketing tool. It is an advertisement propaganda used for provoking your interest in “2012″, a movie by Sony pictures.Viral campaigns like these used for TV shows or movies are becoming common nowadays. One segment of the site lures you to participate in an election to determine the leader of the post 2012 World offering prizes like a Malay trip in Cancun, Sony PlayStation and Sony webcams.
You can even add some spice into those theories because there is a special section where your ideas about what will precede the final doomsday are being welcomed. The site is actually an intrinsic part of the movie “2012″ as there is a specific PSA style video that says that IHC has helped rescue a portion of humanity from the impending disaster (in the movie) successfully as it already existed since 1978.
The shelter locations that are mentioned on the site are Antarctic and space colonies, which are said to be “safe havens”. The site has enthralling disaster simulations that will occur when another nasty planet hits Earth or even if that is somehow avoided the inevitable crush we will experience due to the solar radiations. IHC also predicted that the biblical deluge is part of reality and is bound to wreck havoc. It also talks of the climate going haywire when the cataclysms happen. So it will be tornadoes, solar damage and floods, all making a menace simultaneously!
