New York, Dec 28, (THAINDIAN NEWS) An aspiring rapper, who was accused of sending offensive pictures and text messages to musical artist Ashanti’s mother, has been convicted recently. The much acclaimed singer’s mother Tina Douglas was repeatedly harassed by the stalker who would sent her lewd pictures and messages about her daughter.

31 year old Devar Hurd, was found guilty of causing mental agony by sending Tina Douglas crude messages and pictures of his genitals as well as photos of their house. Moreover, the accused also reportedly used to sent offensive voice mails where he would fantasize about getting involved in a sexual relationship with the Grammy award-winning singer. Meanwhile, the convict is being held at Rikers Island without bail and his sentencing is scheduled to take place on January 11 next year. Moreover, Devar Hurd, who hails from Griffith, Ind., is likely to face around two years imprisonment for carrying out the heinous crime.

While revealing her side of the story, Tina Douglas added that she was extremely scared by the revolting nature of the photos and text messages sent to her. Moreover, she emphasized that the accused continued to send her the offensive messages and pictures although she repeatedly asked him not to do so.

Meanwhile, attorney Richard Berchick, who represented the accused in the trial, defended his client by saying that Devar Hurd did not want to harass anybody and emphasized that the his client only wished to be loved by the much acclaimed singer. However, no comments been available from the lawyer following the court’s verdict.
