Indian Musician Ranjit Barot To Set Music At The World Economic Forum In Davos

Speaking about the performance, Barot said that he will have an eight-minute symphony on Saturday and a five-minute interlude will follow this, which will have Indian classical music root. Barot has used three ragas Charukeshi, Desh and Yog in his ‘India Inclusive’ performance to offer a composition that portrays the age old Indian musical legacy and its association with the west. He added that he they will offer an Indian mood at the gala with the theme ‘India meets the world’.
Barot has been known for his long association with Oscar winner music director AR Rahman and he fuses Indian beats with western jazz percussion. He will be accompanied by Parthasarathy on mridangam. He will also play Middle Eastern drums and the conventional Western drum kit.
The music director of the films like Sankat City, Acid factory, Qayamat: City Under Threat, Fiza etc, will perform on stage only with Sridar Parthasarathy and the rest musical backup will be given by a recorded orchestra.
