Katy Perry and Russell Brand are tying the knot this Saturday in true Indian Maharani style, at the luxurious Rambagh Palace in Jaipur, India, where the couple met a year ago. Katy is going all out with the Indian traditions for her wedding! The big day for Katy Perry and Russell Brand being less than 48 hours away, the bride-to-be has arrived at Jaipur, yesterday.
Katy was spotted wearing a nath –a nose ring attached to ear by a chain. In some parts of India, the bride traditionally wears a nath on her wedding day, which the groom removes after the wedding ceremony rituals are carried out and all the vows are taken. The removal of the nath symbolizes the end of the bride’s virginity.
Just to avoid the complications of piercing-like swelling, Katy got her nose piercing done at London – ahead of the big day.
According to latest reports, the procession will start at the gate of the hotel, with the groom, Russell Brand, sitting on a beautifully decorated horse being led by equally decorated camels and elephants. Folk dancers will welcome the couple with the songs, and dances, and fireworks, after which the bride and the groom will be ushered into the main garden for the wedding rituals - the whole nine-yards of the traditional kingly wedding scenario.
Some of their special invitees out of the 85 guests on the list have also started to arrive at the Palace, including David Walliams, and P Diddy, who will perform at the reception. Bride’s maid-of-honor, Rihanna has also arrived at Jaipur.
