New Delhi, Mar 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Indian government is planning to ban Lindsay Lohan from visiting the country, as she had violated some visa rules when she visited India in December 2009. She came to India and she also shot a documentary on illicit child and woman trafficking. Since she was on a tourist visa, so she was not legally permitted to work on her visit.
So the Indian government is miffed with her, because she should have procured a short-term work visa for shooting the documentary, instead of the tourist visa, which she had, at that time. After this episode the Indian Consulate in San Francisco had referred her case to the Indian Government officials in New Delhi, for ‘blacklisting’ her, and the senior officials of the Indian government in New Delhi are examining the matter.
Another reason that the Indian government is unhappy with Lohan is that, she had proclaimed that she had rescued 40 child laborers, as a part of the documentary. Lohan had said, “Over 40 children saved so far … Within one day’s work … This is what life is about … Doing THIS is a life worth living! Focusing on celebrities and lies is so disconcerting, when we can be changing the world one child at a time … hope everyone can see that.” However the Indian Government says that this is not true, as she arrived in India after the raids and the rescue work had been completed.
