Indian director’s debut film selected for Cannes
April 15th, 2010 - 6:36 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )New Delhi, April 15 (IANS) Vikramaditya Motwane’s directorial debut “Udaan”, featuring popular TV actors Ronit Roy and Ram Kapoor, is the only Indian movie to be screened at the 63rd Cannes Film Festival being held May 12-23.
Set in Jamshedpur, Bihar, “Udaan”, about a father and son, will be screened in the Un Certain Regard Section of the festival.
Motwane was the co-writer of “Dev D” and worked as Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s assistant.
“Udaan” has been produced by Anurag Kashyap and Sanjay Singh.
