July 19, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Christopher Nolan’s Inception has made an estimated $21.6 million in North America alone. This thriller is being appreciated by movie-lovers from around the continent.
The amount of $21.6 million, also includes a total of $3 million from midnight shows, has pleased its producers. The movie, which has garnered high expectations and is from the banner of Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures, is being played in 3,792 theaters. The movie is rated PG-13-rated and stars Hollywood hunk Leonardo DiCaprio who plays a kind of a dream thief. It is kind of a sci-fi and perhaps its freshness defines the commercial success it has achieved. Nolan seems to have outdone himself with the film.
However, this wasn’t the case with other films that were released within the same time period. For example, Disney’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice couldn’t recreate an Inception success story. The movie is from the Jerry Bruckheimer production house and stars Nicolas Cage. The movie is directed by Jon Turtletaub, and was released this Wednesday and raked in $3.9 million USD, but failed to do anything more.
