London, Oct 13 (ANI): Troubled filmmaker Roman Polanski is ‘tired and depressed’ in jail as he battles extradition to the US, his lawyer has said.

The Rosemary’s Baby director has been in a Zurich jail since his arrest on September 26, when he was taken into custody on a US warrant for having unlawful intercourse with a minor in the late 70s.

Although Swiss official have called upon a Court to turn down Polanski’s bail plea, his lawyer, Herve Temime is hopeful that the Oscar winning director will soon be freed.

“I found him to be tired and depressed… Roman Polanski, who is 76, seemed very dejected when I visited him. Polanski was in an unsettled state of mind,” the Daily Star quoted him as saying.

Temime expect the Swiss Federal Penal Court to decide “very soon” if Polanski will be granted bail and added: “He would fulfil all the conditions and stay in Switzerland until the extradition proceedings are decided.” (ANI)
