I’m too old to be a sex symbol: Colin Firth
November 25th, 2009 - 1:10 am ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )London, Nov 24 (IANS) British star Colin Firth says he is convinced that he would never have got any female attention if he wasn’t an actor and insists he’s too old to carry the sex symbol tag.
The “Love Actually” star shot to fame with his portrayal of Darcy in 1995 film “Pride And Prejudice”, famously winning the hearts of female fans by appearing in soaking wet clothes. But Firth, 49, is adamant the attention will soon stop now that he’s hit middle-age, reports contactmusic.com.
“I think I’m getting a bit old for that stuff (sex symbol tag) now, aren’t I? I suppose that because of the profession I’m in, I do get a certain amount of attention that I probably would not get if I had not been known. I certainly wouldn’t get the attention I get if I hadn’t been on screen,” he said.
