New Delhi, Sep 15 (IANS) Director Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra is a “very happy” man as “Delhi-6″ won two national awards Wednesday.
The Abhishek Bachchan-Sonam Kapoor starrer won the Nargis Dutt Award for best feature film on national integration and also the best production design award for Samir Chanda.
“I am very happy that ‘Delhi-6′ has got recognition at the National Awards. The reason we had made this film was that the land suffers from integration; lack of understanding between religions and we have got recognised for the same. It is a very overwhelming feeling,” Mehra said in a statement.
Produced and distributed by UTV Motion Pictures, “Delhi-6″ also stars Waheeda Rahman, Om Puri, Rishi Kapoor, Divya Dutta and Prem Chopra, who play pivotal roles.
Amitabh Bachchan makes a guest appearance in the film.
