New Delhi, July 16 (IANS) Australian director Phillip Noyce says he is indeed going to wield the megaphone for spy thriller “Wenceslas Square” apart from a long-awaited musical “Dirt Music” starring Russell Crowe.
“I am working on a project called ‘Wenceslas Square’ which is set in Prague. I am also working on a musical in Australia with Russell Crowe. It’s got a lot of music in it, but it’s nothing like a Bollywood film. It’s called ‘Dirt Music’ and Russell will play a country singer and songwriter in it,” Noyce told IANS over telephone from Washington.
Based on the short story by Arthur Phillips and with a script by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, “Wenceslas Square”, is set in Prague in the late Cold War era and revolves around a young CIA officer and a beautiful Czech spy.
The long pending “Dirt Music”, on the other hand, is a big screen adaptation of the novel of the same name by Tim Winton. Crowe’s role was earlier slated to be done by the late Heath Ledger.
Having a penchant for spy and crime thrillers, Noyce is known for his offerings like “The Bone Collector”, “Patriot Games”, “Clear and Present Danger”, “The Saint” and the recently released “Salt” starring Angelina Jolie.
