iliza-shlesingerJune 5, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Iliza Shlesinger became the first female and youngest person to win the ‘Last Comic Standing’ show and got to perform on her own half hour show on June 4.

Iliza Shlesinger said that it was not easy being a stand-up comedian in spite of winning a male-dominated competition in a male dominated field. Her half hour show on Comedy Central made her a hot search item on the web.

In ‘Last Comic Standing’ she was twice selected by other contestants for the head to head elimination rounds and she managed to win it both times. In the finals she competed against Jeff Dye and Marcus. Jeff Dye was the first to get eliminated and the subsequent ‘killer’ performance by Iliza Shlesinger made sure that the final spotlight was on her.

The 27 year old American comedian attended one year at the University of Kansas and then transferred to Emerson College in Boston where she majored in Film. She performed with the ComedySportz Dallas and later moved to Los Angeles to pursue stand-up comedy.

She was also the winner of ‘So You Think You Are Funny’ and is presently the co-host of ‘The Weakly News With Iliza And Alexis’ which is aired on Stream TV. As one of the contestants of the ‘The Last Comic Standing’ Season 6, show Iliza Shlesinger was also a part of the ‘Last Comic Standing Tour’. It was her immense popularity in the ‘Whiteboy Comedy’ group of stand up comedians in Los Angeles that put her on the Improv Stage in Hollywood for ‘Last Comedian Standing’.
