‘If You Really Knew Me’ On MTV Attracts Attention

if-u-stJuly 21, (THAINDIAN NEWS) “If You Really Knew Me”, The latest offering from MTV which focuses on the dynamics of high school premiered last night at 11. The students are seen participating in an MTV designed competition called ‘Challenge Day’. The discussions of the first episode were held among the students of Freedom High in Oakley, California.

In Freedom High School in Oakley, California, 100 students from the same school were given the question, “If You Really Knew Me” which triggered discussions among the students. There were several kinds of answers from the students that followed like someone tried to commit suicide, someone was a gay etc. Leikin Poppino, recent graduate from the same school was also featured in the 1st episode of “If You Really Knew Me” and she said that her high school had “every clique possible”. The CEO of the Challenge Day, Jaime Polson said that the reality show proved that the students have the power to break up “cliques” and put an end to bullying.

The new documentary series of MTV was widely accepted by the viewers as it dealt with an bullying issues in school. The show ended barriers among the students where they shared their deepest fears, secrets and feelings. The show is however, compared to “The Breakfast Club” due to its similarities but this show is far more serious as it deals with daily issues in high schools. The audience is waiting for the next episode where MTV will bring Challenge Day to Anthony Wayne High School and the hot topic will be cyber-bullying.
