Idols recap
April 2nd, 2009 - 4:01 pm ICT by David M N JamesIdols did a medium job ‘as I would say’ doing i-tunes downloads. Unlike my last weeks babble about their poor performance and choice of songs, this week, they seem to be doing well doing songs randomly. The tackled everyone including No Doubt to Rascal Flatts and The Fray. Am wondering what everyone thinks of this. My only sublime observation was that two people Adam and Paula were not aware of the fact that this was idols and it was nationally televised. One of the ridiculous things about these folks was, Adams sideburns are funny or phony and Paula was dressed badly for a televised show.
Ryan pimped his “America’s Top 40″ radio show. The whole thing commenced with ‘Snoop Dogg.
I watched Anoop Desai singing “Caught Up” by Usher. I was either impressed or not. What this fella wanted was to bring back some energy and swagger, as had been the advice last week. I think his vocals were good and so did the judges. Am still wondering did this dear fella sing a good song. Kara reckoned Anoop played it safe. Paula noted that Anoop Desai went back to his playful side, but should work on his stage presence. Simon said it was a mess.
Megan Joy
Megan sang “Turn Your Lights Down Low” simply because she loves it. She seems to have improved her vocals. Kara was impressed but adds Megan is trouble. Maybe her movements make Kara feel cheated..whatever..but Oh Megan you are going home..! That is my guess. However Simon said the song was ‘indulgent’ a funny observation though. Above all, it was utterly boring. So tomorrow my lady you are going home I guess
Danny Gokey
Danny is sang “What Hurts the Most” by Rascal Flatts. This is the guy whose mistakes are endless, he just sang the wrong song, even after we said these guys should be able to make good choices. Paula commented that this bloke does his thing the other way round. Simon though Danny did his best ever but needs a swagger. Kara said there were immense emotions and Danny moved everyone in the room with his emotion.
Allison Iraheta
She selected and sang “Don’t Speak” by No Doubt. I have a feeling she might pull a fast on us. She is the only one who is able to make No Doubt songs work at idols. The initial stages of her performance are wonderful I would say but she loses touch on the chorus her kind of falls apart. Randy is randy about Allison but did not love her song. and that her outfit is incorrigible. Kara comments about this outfit and also says Allison’s rocker vibe comes out naturally in all her performances. Paula liked it. Simon reckons she was playing dress-up rock star instead of being one.
Scott MacIntrye
He’s sang “Just the Way You Are” by Billy Joel —an iconic artist. He did well than previously but still way off the mark. Kara said he made smart decisions by singing that song and stripping it down. Paula is proud of Scott. Simon thought it was his best performance. Randy agreed that this was the best of the night. Am very impressed and all I wish the happy fella is… good riddance
Matt Giraud
Matt’s did “You Found Me” by The Fray. The only bad thing about this person is that he just wants to be what he is not. It is pointless man. He is trying to show off his voice and what he can dig. Paula did not like it since it did not project his real talents. Simon assumed Matt was trying to be someone else and seemed uptight. Randy was sure it was a wrong song. This guy wont be safe whatsoever.
Lil Rounds
Lil did Celine Dion’s “I Surrender” This was hell of a blunder. She failed to connect with the song but managed to impress the audience with the benign voice. Randy did not love the song as a choice. Kara says she needs to show more of it. Paula wants more joy from Lil and Simon ‘that was like a wedding performance. She could be safe I reckon.
Adam Lambert
Adam did Wild Cherry’s “Play that Funky Music,” It was ridiculous. However, he did not do well like the previous week, I mean last week. But the judges thought else, Paula called him a genius, Simon said it was original, and Randy thought he’s in the star zone. Kara is anxious to see what he can do next.
Kris Allen
Kris did the song “Ain’t No Sunshine,” He did exceptionally well. Randy agreed it was well done. Kara though tit was artistic and Simon thought the fella brought confidence through a witty arrangement.
Now who will be going home anyway?
