Oct 3 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The race to determine this year’s King of the Haul Road enters its final stage. Hugh moved to the summit of the leadership table when tensions between former co-leaders Ray and Greg moved to the next level.

The Ice Road Truckers title was originally created by The History Channel in 1999 when they aired a 46-minute episode of the show, with the same title as part of the network’s Suicide Missions series.

Edith Iglauer entitled “Denison’s Ice Road” based the episode on the book. The episode chronicled the dangerous job of driving trucks over frozen lakes.

The History Channel contracted Thom Beers in 2006 to create a series based on the “Ice Road”. The show follows the journey of six “extraordinary” men who move vital goods to mines and other structures in remote places in treacherous conditions.

The second season of the show was aired on June 8, 2008 in the United States and October 9, 2008 in the United Kingdom before showing in other places like New Zealand, Canada and other countries.
