London, Oct 1 (IANS) Actor Idris Elba says he is keen to take on the role of James Bond but does not want to be called as first “black James Bond”.
“My dad and I were talking about this the other day. I would do it, but I don’t want to be called the first black James Bond. Do you understand what I’m saying,” contactmusic.com quoted him as saying.
“Sean Connery wasn’t the Scottish James Bond and Daniel Craig wasn’t the blue-eyed James Bond. So if I played him, I don’t want to be called the black James Bond,” he said.
Currently the character is being played by Craig, who is back for his third movie to be directed by Sam Mendes.
