April 19, 2010 (Sampurn Wire):Samuthirakkani’s initial phase of filmdom wasn’t praiseworthy as the director couldn’t churn out a hit. But his previous year’s release “Nadodigal’ turned to be a top grosser at box office as the trade analysts have labeled the film to be 2009’s only blockbuster. Off the late, the filmmaker was offered to remake the same film in Kannada, Hindi and Telugu. With the Telugu version “Sambo Siva Sambo’ turning to be an above average fare at box office, Samuthirakkani is holding talks with leading Telugu actors to sign more projects.

Meanwhile, there were buzzes that he has been refusing certain acting offer patently because of low remuneration. Nonetheless the moviemaker has put an end to such buzzes saying that he has no ideas about foraying as an actor as his main motto is about making films.

Right now, Samuthirakkani is playing a prominent role in Sasikumar’s upcoming film yet to be titled and will indeed direct a film featuring Sasikumar as the film’s protagonist.
