Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 17 (IANS) Veteran Malayalam actor Thilakan, who was served a show cause notice by a film body to apologise or face action for his outburst against film personalities, Wednesday stood his ground and said he has done no wrong.
The Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) had issued Thilakan a notice asking him to apologise in a week’s time or face action.

In a letter to AMMA, he said it did not come to his help when he was dropped from the film “Christian Brothers” after he was signed and the advance given.

“It is clear that AMMA’s interest centres around a select few, whose interests are paramount to the organisation. Now let the people decide,” said the actor.

Meanwhile, the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA), a body of technicians comprising 19 different organisations, Wednesday decided not to cooperate with the actor unless he withdrew the remarks made by him against them last month.

Thilakan told reporters: “With FEFKA deciding not to cooperate with me, it signals the end of me as an actor because it is they who decide who should stand in front of the camera. The decision was on expected lines.”

Last week, he filed a complaint with the police following a phone call threatening to kill him for “defaming Mammootty”.

Thilakan began his one-man fight against AMMA and FEFKA after he was denied an opportunity to act in “Christian Brothers”.
