I feel safe in London: Thandie Newton
August 16th, 2011 - 3:40 pm ICT by IANSLondon, Aug 16 (IANS) “Mission: Impossible II” actress Thandie Newton refuses to feel scared living in London following the riots, insisting she still feels “very safe” in the city.
Violence began Aug 6 in London’s northern district of Tottenham after the killing of a suspected drug-dealer taxi driver by police. Rioters started stalking streets, looting stores and burning buildings.
However, the 38-year-old is not worried about her safety while walking the streets of the city.
“I feel very safe here. Everyone in my area looks out for everyone else. There’s no need for neighbourhood watch, or anything, I’ve got my dog, Maggie, to protect me,” dailystar.co.uk quoted Newton as saying.
