New Delhi, Dec 10 (IANS) After riding horses and surfing in the blue seas, Hollywood star Kate Bosworth now gets lethal with “The Warrior’s Way” where she goes stabbing her nemesis with knives. She calls it her “dream role” and says she is ready to explore opportunities in Bollywood with “Mr Khan”.

“What I do gain with this movie is my desire of being a part of an action movie is fulfilled. I have always wanted to play this kick-ass and fearless cowgirl and knives are an added bonus here,” Bosworth told IANS in an e-mail interview from Los Angeles.

The 27-year-old with golden locks, who was last seen in blackjack drama “21″ (2008), toughened herself by learning blade combat to get into the skin of her character.

“I play the role of a knife thrower in a circus. So I had to learn how to handle knives. In more ways than one… which does not involve cutting vegetables. It wasn’t so difficult. In fact, it was fun. It is just that I ended up with a few cuts,” she said.

To ask the obvious, is she also upbeat about Bollywood?

“I hear that it is doing really well. ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ success proves that it is time for India to flourish. Actors of Bollywood are working in Hollywood films and vice-versa.

“If they have a good strong script for me then why not, I don’t mind acting in an Indian movie. Just let me know how difficult is it to learn the language?” she quipped.

But has she heard of any Indian actors?

“Mr. Khan is what I am recalling as of now. Am I close to the right name?” said Bosworth leaving a doubt whom she was referring to.

Having started her career with “The Horse Whisperer” in 1998 courtesy her equestrian skills, Bosworth’s big break was the 2002 surfing movie “Blue Crush”. She was then seen in notable projects like “Wonderland”, “Beyond the Sea” and others before playing Lois Lane in “Superman Returns” in 2006.

Her latest, “The Warrior’s Way”, released in the US last week and hit the screens in India Friday. The epic story of revenge and redemption is being distributed in India by Multivision Multimedia India Pvt. Ltd. with more than 350 prints in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

Starring South Korean actor Jang Dong-gun as well as Geoffrey Rush, Danny Huston, Stephen Halsall and Tony Cox, it is South Korean director Sngmoo Lee’s debut American directorial venture. The movie has been backed by Barrie M. Osborne, who produced “The Lord of the Rings” franchise.

Asked if the fantasy action would help boost her career in Hollywood, she said: “Well to be honest that is for the moviemakers to decide.”

Bosworth is, however, game for more action movies. “I would love to as long as they are not the cliched ones.”

So any particular role in her wishlist that she’s really been yearning for?

“Something that no one has done… so, yes, one unique role that no other actor has enacted. I like to do something different; that’s why there is a gap of two years between my last and ‘The Warrior’s Way’,” she said.

Having been in the industry for over a decade now, the petite actress is content with her Hollywood journey.

“I am happy with the way I am going about things but not satisfied. It is a slow and steady speed and I like it this way,” said the actress, who also turned a businesswoman with her online jewellery line JewelMint designed with friend and celebrity stylist Cher Coulter.

“It is going very well… I am looking forward for expansion and diversification in my business,” said Bosworth, who “would love to (come to India) as soon as I have the time and opportunity.

“I want to eat a lot of Indian food, buy Indian clothes and visit the historic monuments. I am more interested in Indian gems and precious stones for my jewellery line too.”
