I can’t imagine doing world tour cross-legged: Norah Jones
February 12th, 2010 - 1:05 pm ICT by IANSLondon, Feb 12 (IANS) Her father Ravi Shankar is an acclaimed sitar maestro, but American singer Norah Jones doesn’t want to learn the instrument because she feels it’s not her cup of tea.
The multiple Grammy Award winner has revealed she once took sitar lessons from half-sister Anoushka Shankar, but quickly realised the instrument wasn’t for her, reported contactmusic.com.
“It was fun, but you have to twist your back all around. My dad and Anoushka both have twisted backs from playing so much. And you have to sit cross-legged. See, that ain’t cool! I can’t imagine doing a world tour cross-legged,” said Jones.
