June 24, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Manirathnam may not consider giving interviews to the Tamil media as his main concerns are always adhered to in Bollywood and Tollywood. But the actors in “Raavanan’ have made sure that they meet media channels as a part of promoting this film. Previously, it was actor Vikram, who stunned everyone by giving back-to-back interviews for the entire day. Now it’s actress Priyamani who is interacting with the journalists.

Sharing about her working experience with Manirathnam, she says, “First and foremost, Manirathnam is the one who can handle so many star-casts in a film. I was completely amazed to get a call from Manirathnam’s office. Later, as I reached his office, the ace filmmaker appreciated my performance in “Paruthiveeran’ and insisted that I must continue establishing my potentials in a similar way. He was into the script of “Raavanan’ as he said I have a role to play, that of Vennila. In simple terms, he labeled my character as the – Color of Raavanan, as only my scenes have a colorful backdrop while the rest of the film is shot in gloomy tones…”

Finally, the actress pleads with everyone to forget the factors like a modernized adaptation of “Ramayana’ and just watch it as a Manirathnam film.
