dexter2Nov.23, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Dexter’s latest episode was sinisterly titled “Hungry Man.” The episode was much like the rest in the series: a bit of preaching, a bit of hovering between right and wrong and a lot of violence and gore. The best part of this show was, like the rest, Dexter himself. The actor beautifully portrays the character of the guy who tries to take on the criminals of the world by himself and with supreme confidence. It is delightful to watch Dexter’s dilemma as he gets caught up between the two faces of his double life.

On the one hand, he has to maintain the outlook of the ordinary forensic expert who has a wife and two kids. On the other, he is the killer, albeit the virtuous one, who sets off single-handedly to punish the criminals who go scotfree. In this episode, too, he dons his robes of the messiah of the world as he sets out to take his revenge on Trinity, on behalf of the latter’s wife and family. In this episode, a little more is revealed about Trinity, to whom we were introduced in the previous episode. In the latest episode, we see Trinity’s family sitting down at their Thanksgiving dinner, Trinity at the head of the table, his family cowering in his presence.

It is not very surprising, as Trinity more or less manages his family by terrorizing them. Surprisingly, however, as Dexter attempts to kill Trinity, his family comes to his aid. On the whole, the episode was dark and delightful to watch, the only dampener being the Maria and Angel plot-line, a rather weak and unnecessary link in an otherwise flawless episode.
