“Human Torch” Johnny Storm of Marvel’s Fantastic Four Dies
January 26th, 2011 - 10:34 pm ICT by Angela Kaye MasonJan 26 (THAINDIAN NEWS) In a move which has left comic fans shocked, Marvel Comics has killed off one of it’s iconic characters who has been with the franchise since 1961. After fifty years as one of the members of the Fantastic Four, the fiery and immature Johnny Storm was killed off by the comic book. It is said to be the most surprising addition to the storyline at Marvel since Captain America was killed off four years ago.
Johnny Storm fans can be proud of their here, as he died as one. He was killed while rescuing his niece and nephew from an invading troop of insect like creatures. The story will be detailed in Fantastic Four comic book number 587, which will be on sale in stores today.
Johnny Storm was “born” to the comic book world in 1961, when artist Jack Kirby drew the character imagines by writer Stan Lee. The Fantastic Four were the first group of heroes which had character flaws and issues similar to those of their human readers and fans. Since this makes the group more of a family, it will be strange to see them without the fiery one.
