‘Hum Dono’ tax-free in Maharashtra
March 17th, 2011 - 9:12 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, March 17 (IANS) There’s a good news for Dev Anand’s fans. The coloured version of veteran actor’s 1961 classic “Hum Dono” has been granted tax exemption in Maharashtra.
A review committee saw the film recently, liked it a lot and made it tax free. The exemption will bring down the ticket prices of the coloured movie, which is running in theatres for last seventh weeks.
The 1961 classic about love and sacrifice, starring Dev Anand, Nanda and Sadhana, was the last black and white film from Dev Anand’s banner Navketan where he played a double role for the first time.
The film is also remembered for its classic songs like “Main zindagi ka saath nibhata chala gaya” and “Abhi na jaao chhodkar”.
