hugo weavingNew York, Mar 15, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Marvel Comics is gearing up for their upcoming flick, The First Avenger: Captain America. The filmmakers are holding out on Hugo Weaving to fit the frame for the role of Red Skull, who plays the baddie in Captain America. However, the makers are still looking for the right one to slip into the famous red, white and blue suit for the superhero role of Captain America. Although the title cast slot is still empty, Hugo Weaving is already into talks with the makers and if all goes well, the audience might hope for another brilliant on screen performance from a man who has mastered the art of essaying negative roles with impeccable intensity.

Marvel Comics have already earned a great deal of bad name in negotiating stars for roles. Instances are Hollywood biggies like Samuel L. Jackson who had taken his name off from the credit list of Iron Man 2. Samuel Jackson said the pay was below standards and that he was left with no other option.

Hugo Weaving has already impressed one and all with his breakthrough performances in movies like Lord of the Rings, The Matrix (as Agent Smith) and his highly acclaimed role in The Wolfman. Marvel Comics has Red Skull as Adolf Hitler’s right-hand man, who is also Captain America’s arch rival. The tussle between Captain America and Red Skull kicks off at World War II, when Captain America is frozen in ice along with Red Skull, only to continue the fight in the modern time frame.
