Mar 18 (THAINDIAN NEWS) An arrest had been made due to the ongoing investigation into a prescription drug ring that is based in the United States. The ring has been linked to Corey Haim, the Canadian born actor who was just recently laid to rest after a tragic and untimely death. The cause of Corey’s death will remain unclear until the toxicology reports are in, however.

Although the first reports that came out suggested that Corey Haim had died of a drug overdose, there were no illegal drugs found in the apartment. The investigation has lead authorities in another direction, prescription drugs, an area in which Corey Haim was known to trod.

An exam which was done after Corey’s death showed that he had pneumonia, an enlarged heart, and water in his lungs at the time of his death. The LA coroner is awaiting the toxicology reports before determining the cause of death, so this arrest does not mean that the drugs were the immediate cause of death.

Day’s after the death, California Attorney General Edmund Brown made the announcement that their investigation had found an unauthorized prescription in Corey’s name. On March 17 they released another announcement that an arrest had been made in that investigation. The people involved in the drug ring were, among other things, stealing prescription pads, and forging doctor’s names in order to obtain the drugs illegally, or help others to do so.
