Howard Stern to replace Simon Cowell at the American Idol?February 6th, 2010 - 1:27 am ICT by Aishwarya Bhatt
New York, Feb 5 (THAINDIAN NEWS) This is Simon Cowell’s last season as a judge of the American Idol. And the American Idol producers are on a lookout for a person, who can fill in Simon Cowell’s shoes at the show. They are now thinking of approaching Howard Stern to replace Simon. According to a source, the producers think that the highest paid radio personality would be an able person to fill in Simon’s seat at the American Idol.
This development happened after Stern hinted on air repeatedly, that his contract with Sirius XM Radio would end in January 2011, and he was open to other interesting offers. “It’s one of the few shows that could compete with Stern’s USD 100 million-a-year Sirius contract, and ‘Idol’ bosses think he’d be even nastier than Simon. They know he would be great TV and would clash with the other judges such as Ellen DeGeneres and the contestants. ‘Idol’ will do what it takes to sign him,” the New York Post quoted a source, as saying.
However there is no confirmation as yet, from Howard Stern about this lucrative offer. Some reports also say that Stern is not very keen to leave his radio show, despite the fact that he is hinting on air that he is open to other offers. Reports suggest that Stern wants more moolah from Sirius Radio, and if they can’t meet his demands, then the American Idol producers are ready to negotiate with him.
