The finale of American Idol saw the eight male finalists looping dapper in dark suits and singing “Do You Think I’m Sexy” and as if on cue, Rod Stewart appeared on the stage, singing along and then bursting into “Maggie May” with viewers and the participants on American Idol grooving along. The man looked a million years old, but age has not taken anything out of his vocals, or even his dancing. Once again he proved the saying that horses and real men never age; they stay “Always Young”.

Rod Stewart has been in news recently when the media reported that he and his wife, Penny Lancaster have made unsuccessful attempts at having another baby after three-year old Alastair. Rod, 64, and Penny, 38, have aired concerns that it may have become too late for them now. Penny is said to have said, “I think Rod’s touring and running around interferes with things but we still have high hopes.” Her spokesperson confirmed the earlier reports that it has been too late for them saying, “It’s simply a question of age. It does become more difficult the older people are.”

A spokesperson for the couple said, “They would dearly love a younger brother or sister for Alastair and they will continue to try until it happens, and everyone is wishing them luck,” confirming how desperate the two are for a child. The British singer already has seven children from five different women and had vowed to opt for vasectomy after one more child, preferably a girl.
