“House” Famed Actor Hugh Laurie Goes Blues This Summer

July 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Golden-Globe award-winning British actor Hugh Laurie of the “House” fame, who had sung and played various instruments through out his career, is finally going to record a blues album in collaboration with the WME. The actor who is associated with music both on-screen and out of it, announced recently that he is going to record a blues album that will be produced by Joe Henry. Joe Henry had in the past produced many classic records and worked with artists like Teddy Thompson, Loudon Wainwright and Elvis Costello. The New Orleans Blues album will be recorded this summer.
An excited Hugh Laurie said in his statement, “I am drunk with excitement at this opportunity”. He also added that while he knows that many actors before him, who have tried their luck in the field of music, have failed to make an impression on music lovers, he promised that he will not disappoint his fans. He promised that “no one will get hurt” by his latest endeavor. Hugh Laurie added that he is all the more “thrilled” with the fact that he would be working with Joe Henry who had produced some of the actor’s personal favorite records of all time. The actor is now looking forward to get started with the album recording.
Hugh Laurie can play piano, guitar, harmonica, saxophones and drums reportedly. He has been associated with Band From TV where he plays the keyboard. The actor had also played in the latest album of Meat Loaf. For the New Orleans blues album, Hugh Laurie will team up with a wide range of guest musicians.
